Anyone Else Watching The All-Night Session?

July 17, 2007

I’ve got C-SPAN2 on right now.  Been watching for about an hour.  Lets see how much of it I can handle.

Update: OK these roll calls can put you to sleep. Just a warning.

Update:  If your cable company doesn’t have C-SPAN2, you can watch live here.

Update:  I think Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) must have said “up-or-down-vote” 50 times.

Update:  Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) has a nice New England accent.

Update:  It’s just about 2AM here in MN, and McCain is fired up!  I was kind of impressed with him there actually.  I might be having a change of heart here as I watch these guys.

Update:  Ya know, the more I watch this, the more indifferent I become.  I know, it’s terrible to think this way, and maybe I’m just tired.  I can’t help but think about how avoidable this mess was.  But as the debate goes on, I think the Repubs are making some good points.  Specifically, the fact that they voted for this surge strategy, and giving up on it early would, on the surface, appear to be a premature flip flop.   Basically, they voted for it, so live with it.  On the other hand, a line must be drawn and a stand must be taken somewhere on this ever changing mission we find ourselves in.  A money pit that, so far, has really benefited the contractors more than anyone else.  What a friggin mess.

I type this as McCain talks about the regional implications of a withdrawal (in sort of domino theory fashion).

Update:  Holy crap does Hillary look tired!  She need an espresso or something…stat.  I suppose it is understandable given the fact that it’s 4AM ET.

BTW-  I hate when Hillary fails to mention that she voted for this war.

  1. Yep, unanimously send General Patraeus to Iraq, tell him to report back in September, and then pull the rug out from under him in July.

Yeah, Democrats are such wonderful people…they want to make me puke!

  2. You watchin Sage? It’s kinda boring. They’re voting on whether the Levin/Reed amendment should move forward right now.

  3. No Chen, I’m not watching. My cable company took c-span2 off the lineup.
They also took Animal Planet off the lineup, which really pissed me off because now I can’t watch Meerkat Manor anymore.

  4. Too bad Sage, this is historic! Anyway, I gave you a link up there if you want to watch it on your computer.

  5. I atarted watching midway through Lieberman, I think midway but he was so much better than the next guy, Sherrod Brown, I think, that I just flipped over to watch Jon Stewart misquote that LA bishop and Vitter.
