All Hail Playoff Hockey In Hi-Def!

May 2, 2007

Sorry I haven’t been posting much lately.  There’s just so much intense hockey action on TV right now, that’s all.

Anyway, I know I gave Comcast some crap in the other post, but I have to give them some thanks for presenting so much hockey for my HDTV on the Versus channel.  Great stuff.

I suppose I’ll make this an open thread for like-minded individuals to share the love. 🙂

Sitting At Base Camp On Mt. Sucketh

April 16, 2007

Anyone watching the Wild tonight probably came up with some similarly clever way to describe their performance

The lifeless Wild looks like a team that’s on the verge of having the rug swept under its season as the Anaheim Ducks took a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory on Sunday night.

Game 4, perhaps the final game of 2006-07, is Tuesday night.

Oh well, at least I got to come up with a new line.

Go Gophers! (unbelievable goal)

March 19, 2007

This was a nice St. Patty’s present for the Gopher hockey fans here in Minnesota.  What a terrific game.  All capped off by an absolutely heroic goal in overtime to win the WCHA and the Broadmoor Trophy:

Wheeler’s Goal for the Ages Lifts Minnesota to 3-2 ot Win, Final Five Title

A night after recording his first career hat trick, sophomore center Blake Wheeler scored a goal for the ages with a diving shot at 3:25 of overtime to lift the second-ranked University of Minnesota men’s hockey team to a 3-2 win over No. 7/6 North Dakota and the 2007 WCHA Final Five Championship at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
